Bi-Lingual Signage Scheme
A Bi-Lingual Signage Scheme has been launched between CLÁR and Foras na Gaeilge. It covers all CLÁR areas and incorporates both Parish and Townland Signage. This scheme will provide two thirds of the cost of a project and Mayo County Development Board invites all Community Groups in CLÁR areas to apply for assistance under this scheme.
The following conditions apply to the scheme:
- 3 way equal funding split: CLÁR, Foras na Gaeilge and Local Community-subject to a maximum of €6000 per Parish/Area.
- Signs are to be done in stone.
- Equal prominence to both Irish and English on each sign.
- Irish only signs in Gaeltacht areas.

- CLÁR will liase with Foras na Gaeilge in relation to their contribution.
It is important to remember that only community groups in the CLÁR areas can apply to this scheme.
