Following consultation with the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, the Department of the Taoiseach and the County / City Manager’s Association, each County / City Council was requested by the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government in April, 2008 to conduct a joint audit of Community, Sports and Arts facilities in its area. This audit was carried out by the Community & Enterprise section of Mayo County Council in respect of facilities in Co. Mayo.
