The County Community Forum is comprised of 3 representatives from each of the seven local community fora - in the Mayo District Electoral Areas, i.e. Ballina, Ballinrobe, Belmullet, Castlebar, Claremorris, Swinford and Westport. There are 21 members of the County Community Forum which has 2 representatives on the County Development Board ( County Community Forum--view member list ). The primary function of the County Forum is to facilitate feedback to the Board from the representatives of the community and voluntary groups throughout the county. The Forum also works as a network to enable the community and voluntary sector to articulate common concerns and agree county-wide responses to their particular needs.
As well as nominating 2 representatives to the County Development Board, the County Forum has been utilised as a nominating body on behalf of community and voluntary groups to various other organisations including the Mayo Social Economy Working Group, the Social Inclusion Measures Working Group and Knock Airport Consultative Committee.
