There are three thematic working groups - Cultural, Social, and Economic.
Cultural Development should be seen as an important part of the overall development of the county. The culture of the county is one of the crucial aspects that distinguish us from other counties. Culture includes speech, language, sport, recreational activities, theatre, music, painting, dance, literature, photography, architecture and much more. The needs of Gaeltacht areas are especially important in this regard.
Social Inclusion is concerned with working for the elimination of social exclusion and poverty. It involves the proactive promotion of social participation, integration and empowerment for all people whilst taking into account the various forms of poverty and disadvantage which are brought about by economic, cultural, social, political, educational, geographic, demographic and technological change.
Economic Development covers a wide range of topics such as Infrastructure, Energy, Employment, and Agriculture among a wide range of others. The tackling of the infrastructural deficiencies in Mayo is one of the most pressing issues facing the County at the moment, and has significant implications for economic development.
