2009 BenefIT Grant Schemes

Mayo County Development Board and Mayo County Council have been awarded funding to support the IT needs of local communities. Three initiatives will be rolloed-out over the coming months:

  • “Spread the Word” – provides train-the-trainer courses and equipment to groups wanting to provide their own technology training in their community
  • “Infrastructure Boost III” – provides computers and equipment to groups wanting to set up computer labs (internet connectivity is not included in the grant)
  • "Look at This!" will deliver tailored programmes of training for specific target groups throughout the county. These groups include older / retired people, the unemployed, people with disabilities, lone parents, refugees and those living in isolated rural areas.

Applications are being accepted for Spread the Word and Infrastructure Boost III until 20th February 2009 at 5 pm.

Further information on the Look at This project will be made available in the coming months.
